Mit dem Bau des prestigeträchtigen Ferienresort von Samih Sawiris in Andermatt geht es voran. Erst kürzlich wurde für das kommende 5 Sterne Chedi Luxushotel der Grundstein gelegt und die Erschliessungsarbeiten auf dem Gelände des zukünftigen neuen Teils von Andermatt sind ebenfalls im vollen Gange. Des Weiteren wurde vor wenigen Wochen bekannt gegeben, dass die Rezidor Hotel Group beim Andermatt Swiss Alps (ASA) Projekt einsteigt und ihr achtes Haus in der Schweiz in Andermatt eröffnen wird. Das Radisson Blu Resort Andermatt mit geplanten 240 Zimmern soll ebenfalls 2013 eröffnen. Damit wurde ein weiterer starker Partner für Andermatt Swiss Alps (ASA) gewonnen wodurch wiederum der Anspruch unterstrichen wird, eine der exklusivsten Destinationen in der Schweiz zu werden.

Mit entstehen von Andermatt Swiss Alps rücken Andermatt und Sedrun unweigerlich näher zusammen und planen den Ausbau der touristischen Infrastrukturen. Der Turnierstandart Golfplatz, welcher in Andermatt entsteht sei nicht genug sagt Gérard Jenni, CEO der ASA und es müsse auch etwas am Berg geschehen, um den Gästen Sommer wie Winter attraktive Freizeitangebote bieten zu können. Dies zu erreichen, wurde in Sedrun ein Gesamtkonzept für die Infrastrukturanlagen im Urserntal und dem Gebiet Oberalp-Sedrun vorgestellt, welches die Errichtung von acht neuen Gondelbahnen oder Sesselliften sowie den Ersatz von sechs bereits bestehenden Anlagen vorsieht.

Wintersportfans werden somit nach dem geplanten Gesamtausbau ca. 130km präparierte Skipiste (ohne Freeride Pisten) im Skigebiete Andermatt-Sedrun zur Verfügung stehen. Es wurde eine Investitionssumme von 160 Millionen Franken genannt, um dieses Vorhaben umzusetzen. Vorrang bilden dabei der Bau einer Achter-Gondelbahn von Andermatt auf den Nätschen, ein Sechser-Sessellift vom Nätschen ins Gebiet Gütsch sowie ein Vierer-Sessellift Oberalp-Calmut. Ab 2015 wäre die durchgehende Verbindung des Urserntals mit Sedrun über Infrastrukturen am Berg mit weiteren vier Anlagen vorgesehen.

Mit dem Ausbau des Skigebiets steigt nicht nur die Attraktivität des Standorts sondern auch die immer grösser werdende wirtschaftliche Bedeutung des Projektes Andermatt Swiss Alps. Winter season 2009/2010 is going to be history soon with spring rushing in. Only in some parts of Switzerland’s impressive alpine setting, the ski season seems to be never-ending.
